Optional, and all of it runs offline. In Terminal, from the folder you downloaded to. The first two answer whether the file really came from us; the last catches a download that was cut short.
The commands name the Apple Silicon image. If you downloaded the Intel build, use ShootCleaner-0.1.63-x64.dmg instead.

What’s in 0.1.63
Fixed
- RAW files from Olympus, OM System, Fujifilm, Panasonic and Pentax now import. Choosing a folder of ORF, RAF, RW2 or PEF files found nothing at all and said nothing about it, so the folder looked empty of photographs. Canon CR3, Samsung SRW, Olympus High Res Shot (.ORI) and Fujifilm HEIF (.HIF) are read as well.
- Choosing a folder with nothing readable in it now tells you so. It used to do nothing whatsoever, which was indistinguishable from cancelling.
- Photoshop files are reported rather than ignored. A folder with PSDs in it says how many were skipped and what to do about them. ShootCleaner still cannot read layered files.
- Portrait RAW frames come out the right way up. The rotation in a RAW file is recorded somewhere ShootCleaner was not looking. If a shoot is already imported, Fix rotated previews in Cull now repairs it.
- Ratings, keywords, captions and copyright reach your RAW files. They go into an .xmp sidecar beside the original — IMG_0001.xmp next to IMG_0001.NEF — which is where Lightroom, Bridge and Capture One look, and which means your negative is never rewritten. Embedding into a batch of RAW files used to fail outright.
- Your Signature Look travels to Lightroom. The grade you apply in Enhance is written to that same sidecar as Camera Raw develop settings, so a RAW file opens in Lightroom already looking the way you approved it. Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity, dehaze, vibrance, saturation, sharpening, noise reduction, the tone curve and black-and-white conversion all carry. Crop and rotation deliberately do not.
- An existing .xmp sidecar is updated, never replaced. If you already have develop settings, a crop or masks in one, they survive.
- "Metadata written" now means it was written. Every file in a batch could fail and the app would still report success with a tick. It now counts what actually happened, says which files failed and why, and tells you when metadata went to a sidecar so you know where to find it.
- Reading your website for a House Style works again. Sites behind Cloudflare and similar protection were refusing ShootCleaner outright — the crawl never received a single page, and the error blamed your photographs. ShootCleaner now identifies itself honestly instead of pretending to be a web browser, which is what these systems object to.
- Portfolios that load their images with JavaScript are read properly. Responsive galleries, `<picture>` elements, lazy-loading plugins, background images and structured data are all searched now, not just plain `<img>` tags.
- Pasting an Instagram, Facebook or Dropbox link gets a straight answer. Those cannot be read by any tool without a signed-in session, and ShootCleaner now says so immediately and offers to take your images directly, instead of crawling for a minute and blaming your website.
- You are warned before a shoot outruns your complimentary AI allowance. The culling used to stop partway through a large first import with no warning. If the shoot is bigger than the free run covers, ShootCleaner says so beforehand and suggests a smaller batch — or you can carry on, and the previews and metadata are yours either way.
